All times eastern.

The discerning bettor always shops around to find good value and college basketball fans can use our site to compare NCAAB odds and find the best prices available.

In this article we'll cover the following:

When it comes to choosing the best sportsbook for betting on college basketball, there are three main things to consider.

  1. Who has the best NCAAB odds
  2. What bonuses and free bets are available
  3. What markets are available

College basketball is obviously not as big as the NBA, but you'll see a lot of the NBA's future stars there, and NCAAB betting is still hugely popular.

Competition among sportsbooks to offer the best NCAAB odds is fierce. They know many fans have more than one account and will place their NCAAB bets where the odds are best.

This is where odds comparison tools are so valuable. Instead of hopping from site to site and making a note of the odds (which, of course can be constantly changing), it’s a good idea to use a tool to compare NCAAB odds. This way, you’ll always get the best value for your bet.

NCAAB Straight Bet Odds

This type of bet is where you simply decide who you think will win and place a bet accordingly. Bettors can wager on NCAAB odds against the spread or bet the moneyline odds straight-up. You just need to correctly pick the team that you think wins the match or cover the points spread odds.

Online sportsbooks will set a line for every NCAAB fixture to create a more equal playing field between teams of different standards. A more superior team will be the odds-on favorite and betting on them to win straight-up will not offer much value.

NCAAB Point Spread

Spread betting is another popular way to enjoy NCAAB. The spread gives each team a virtual advantage or disadvantage prior to tip off. For example if you bet on Jacksonville -5.5 points, you would get higher odds on them winning, but you would need them to win by at least six points.

Spread betting is often a good way to get better odds on a favourite if you think they are sure to win by a big margin. On the flipside, if you think an underdog will run the game closer than expected, betting on them with an advantage might be the way to go.

NCAAB Moneyline Explained

The simplest form of NCAAB betting, the challenge here is to pick the winning team.

For example, the odds  Jacksonville Dolphins vs Liberty Flames might be displayed like this:

Jacksonville -220
Liberty +180

If your bet is on Jacksonville, you would need to bet $220 to win $100. If you bet on Liberty, you would win $180 from a $100 bet.

The favorites are always the team with the minus value, while the underdogs have the plus.

NCAAB Total Odds - Over-Under Betting Explained

In the total points market, you are trying to predict how many points will be scored by both teams combined in the game and whether you think it will be higher or lower than a threshold stipulated by the sportsbook.

Some sportsbooks also offer total points markets on each team in the match in a similar way.

NCAAB Parlay Odds

A parlay or multiple allows fans to combine bets and multiply the odds of each outcome. For example, Jacksonville to win the tip off, Liberty to be leading at half time, Jacksonville to win -5.5 points.

Parlays are very popular as they can result in big payouts if the combined selections come off.

NCAAB Futures Odds

A futures bet is a long-term bet that will be settled in the future. People like to place an NCAAB futures bet when they want to back a team for a championship or a similarly long-term objective.

There’s value to be found when betting on NCAAB futures odds, because you can wager higher odds on a team before the oddmakers know how well a team will perform in a new NCAAB season.

NCAAB Prop Bet

Prop bets allow fans to bet on other outcomes not covered in the other markets, for example, who wins tip-off, number of three points scored, will overtime be required?

It always pays to check which sportsbooks have the best welcome and bonus offers. Typically, these are targeted at attracting new customers, encouraging fans to open an account and make a first-time deposit, but offers to current customers are also sometimes available, especially to VIP players.
